How To Get More Visitors Through Facebook PR

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

So, you have a company’s website. Great! However, are you getting people who actually visit it? The internet is filled with pages that nobody ever sees. And, if you don’t want your site added to the sad parade of ignored websites, you should be spending your every free second trying to get more visitors to check you out. One of my favorite techniques to accomplish this is Facebook PR.

You might think Facebook PR doesn’t seem to be bling bling, as the kid’s say (Editor’s Note: No. Nobody has ever said that). No matter what you might think, Facebook PR is actually a superb method for getting more people to buy whatever it is that you’re selling. It really takes the basic concepts developed in traditional PR and simply reinterprets them in a new medium.

Facebook PR can be considered as consisting of two distinct parts: acquiring new customers and converting your existing clientbase into repeat customers.

Getting new customers is best accomplished through the judicious use of Facebook ads. As I am sure you already know Facebook ads are those requests on the side of your wall or profile and usually ask you to “like” a company’s page. You can easily set one up in a few minutes and start getting people to visit your site.

Once you have an existing client base, you’re going to want to do whatever you can in order to make sure that they keep coming back. This is the area where Facebook PR shows its worth. Through Facebook, you can develop an online community consisting of fans and clients that will talk about your products or services and remind each other why they liked you in the first place. In case it wasn’t obvious a happy customer is a return customer, so by talking about you they’ll be reminded to go to your website and see what you have to sell.

Facebook PR Proves The Internet Is Better Than A Phone Call To Get More Visitors When You are Sick

Tuesday, January 10th, 2012

My wife is unwell and she needs to get more visitors coming to the house. Doctors suggest that rest, Vitamin C and good company will help aid any illness but how does someone get more visitors without calling for help? I think a good Facebook PR strategy would do wonders for this quandary don’t you? Facebook PR that depicts a solid image of positivity and good marketing strategies will get more visitors to come waltzing through the door.

Facebook PR does marvels for drug addict celebrities and businesses that do not seem to get that marketing is important to their business’ success so why not use it to get more visitors for my ailing wife? Using Facebook PR for something good and authentic like a sickly person should work flawlessly. There is nothing like a good cause to get more visitors to a Facebook PR page. Think of all the cancer patients and Sickle Cell Anemics that call to the community for more site visits. Sites like those get more visitors each day with ease!

I know what you are assuming. You think that I am a fool. That my spouse doesn’t need Facebook PR and that to get more visitors she should just pick up the phone. Well I got news for you. I am not picking up the phone. I refuse to give in to the service of a phone call in order to get more visitors to my house. I think the internet is a important tool to our way of life and o take a step back in technology and use the phone is crazy in itself!

Critique me all you want but once you see the crowds piling through my front door you are gonna want to get more visitors coming to your house when you’re sick. When that happens, don’t ask me to put a Facebook PR strategy together for you! I am proud of my Facebook PR campaign. I have hit more than 3000 likes since I established the page and I get more visitors than Cindi Lauper; and what!?

Facebook PR has done marvels for my wife’s public image. I can’t speak much about her health but I will take what I can get. The goal was to get more visitors not cure the Ebola Virus. If you want to get a professional Facebook PR page created I won’t charge much. What’s a little money to pay out to get more visitors to your door to ask how you’re feeling today?

Learning From Poor Facebook PR To Get More Visitors For Your Page

Monday, January 9th, 2012

Despite the years that Facebook has been around, there is still a lot to learn about the site, especially when it comes to Facebook PR. Over the last several months, three major brands (Nestle, Domino’s, and Unites Air Lines) committed some Facebook PR snafus, along with attempts to repair the damage. Here is a break down of what happened, along with what to learn in order to get more visitors to your page and stay there for good reasons.

Back in March of 2010, Greenpeace posted a video on Nestle’s Facebook page, complaining about a non eco-friendly supplier that they used. The company’s response was to censor the video, inciting a Facebook PR whirlwind that brought lots of negative attention to the company. While their number of mentions spiked tremendously, the majority of the posts were incredibly negative. Instead of attempting to rectify the situation, Nestle continued to censor their visitors. Not only did this not help them get more visitors, but their fan’s posts remained rather nasty for a while. For your own company, if someone posts something negative, the worst thing to do is ignore the post. Instead, address that person’s complaints in order to placate them and learn from your fans what they like and don’t like about your business.

April 2010 spelled Facebook PR doom for Domino’s when two bored employees posted a crude video of them tainting food in gross ways, such as putting cheese in their noses. While videos like this are posted all of the time, this particular one spread like fire as viewers began to question their faith in Domino’s quality and care of food. After all, nobody wants to eat food that might have been tampered with. In response, Domino’s posted a video to apologize to their fans and pressed charges against their now former employees. This was a great step on their part, as they addressed their fans while helping them get more visitors in a more positive way. Publicly reaching out to your fans, through posts or video, is a great Facebook PR tool that any company can use.

Finally, United Airlines, in July 2010, received complaints from a flier whose guitars were destroyed by United handlers. When ignored by the company, the complainer went to Youtube, recording a song about his negative experience with the airline. Over 3 millions views later, a 10% drop in stock price, and $180 millions dollars lost for shareholders, United learned the difficult way that Facebook PR really does matter. Their response was to reimburse the musician, along with passing out Starbucks gift cards on all domestic flights following the incident. This method was rather passive in approach, yet effective, as United was able to get more visitors back to their page while calming down their irate fans. Everyone loves free stuff, but keep in mind that free stuff only goes so far before a real apology is needed.

These three companies are all powerful businesses, yet we see that one bad case of Facebook PR is enough to knock them down a few bars. In order to get more visitors to your Facebook page for the reasons you want to bring them in, keep three things in mind. 1 – Don’t ignore your fans if they have complaints. Realize that any post made by anyone with any affiliation to your page can still affect your reputation. A swift apology, through personal declarations and free gifts, can very easily deflate a potential storm of bad PR. Keep these helpful tips in mind and your page will do well.

How to Get More Visitors Through Positive Facebook PR Campaigns

Sunday, January 8th, 2012

Facebook can be a very powerful tool in the world of marketing. Not only can businesses pay for ad space on Facebook, but they can create Fan Pages also. A Fan Page is when an organization creates its own profile for customers to view. There is a bunch of information that can be posted on the Fan Pages that make them almost like a second website. Facebook PR campaigns can be built as a way to get more visitors.

The company can post any news that may be important to their customers on their page. Consumers will also be able to follow these pages by becoming a “fan” of the page, which is basically like friending an individual on Facebook. After the customers become fans of the company’s page they can post information on the page as well and “like” any of the updates that the organization puts on its Fan Page.

Some of the kinds of posts that a company couldput on their Fan Page could be videos, news, promotional events, and sales offers. Spokespeople are often used as Facebook PR tools. These spokespeople are used to create a stronger connection between the customer and the product. Simple psychological tools like this are exploited in everyday marketing. Marketers believe that if the customer can relate to the spokesperson, and that spokesperson uses the product, they will want to use the product too. Techniques like this will help the organization get more visitors to their Fan Page.

Using Facebook PR also helps to create a bond between brand identity and brand loyalty for customers. If a company is continuously satisfying their customers and is always in their face, then the customers are less likely to go elsewhere for the things they need. Companies want to create a bond that is very hard to break.

Facebook also provides a medium for creating new contacts. The more customers are satisfied, the more they will share or recommend information posted on a company’s Fan Page. This will entice the people that the information is shared with to visit the company’s Facebook page out of curiosity, which will help the Fan Page get more visitors. Creating a Facebook Fan Page that is visually and mentally stimulating will help get more visitors, both new and returning. The more content that is provided, the longer individuals will want to stay on the page and will want to share the content they like.

Anatomy of Facebook Marketing Fan Page

Thursday, November 10th, 2011

Now some of you may be wondering: why should anyone bother using a Facebook page to market their brand if a regular profile can be used to connect with people?

The main problem with this type of thinking is the fact that Facebook profiles have a contact limit of about 4,500. Once you reach the limit, you can’t accept any new friend request. Another problem is that your profile page is a personal page; you don’t want to make the mistake of inter-mixing your personal life with your public life on Facebook.

Third, you will not be able to add third party applications to a regular Facebook profile. Third party applications and plug-ins can help make a Facebook page really shine.

While having a Facebook page is good; having an interactive, attractive and interesting Facebook page is much better. We strive for a level of excellence when we open up doors of opportunity in Internet marketing; the same holds true for Facebook marketing.

Let’s take a moment to examine the various parts of a Facebook page:

1. Wall. Both Facebook profiles and pages have walls. The wall was designed to act as the central activity hub of the Facebook page. Both you and your fans can upload material to the Facebook wall.

You’re able to post text, videos and pictures on your wall. Your fans, those who have clicked the “Like” button on your page, can post as well. When something is posted on your wall, the post will also be published on the news feed.

2. News feed. An endless roll of information that is generated by activity on the Facebook page best describes the news feed. Any new activity on wall will instantly be posted on your news feed.

3. Status updates: Regular status updates aren’t limited to the Facebook users with regular profile pages. You should also post regular updates to your Facebook page; as they administrator is it vital that you keep the page active. Your updates will be seen by the fans of your page via their news feed page.

Regular status updates is a quick and easy way of keeping your fans up to date on any promotional events, sales or any change in operating hours etc. Be brief though; an update is limited to 160 characters. If you have more to say you can post it via a Facebook note or your can have a link directing them straight to your website.

4. Discussion: This particular feature allows individuals to create separate threads so that specific topics can easily be discussed on the same page.

Some of you might be a bit nervous about having a forum about your business on your own Facebook page, but don’t worry – unless a social media crisis suddenly emerges from your own discussion board, it’s perfectly fine for people to have genuine dialogs about your product.

People normally post positive feedback on dedicated product/business pages. However, there will be times when some irate customers will post their negative reviews.

As the administrator and owner of the Facebook page, you have the power to respond to these irate posts and clarify points and issues. As the owner of the page, you also have the power to remove posts that might damage your business’ reputation.

5. Applications: To really make your Facebook page interesting and fun to use, use the applications that are available to Page users. I’m sure you’ve seen the Facebook logo on many websites you have visited. By pushing that app button you can easily visit that business or blogger over on Facebook and maybe even “Like” their page. This is one of the most popular apps used on Facebook pages.

Why Bother Marketing With A Social Network Like Facebook?

Thursday, November 10th, 2011

On first glance, Facebook may look like a polished version of some of the older social networking site like MySpace. So for some, Facebook may not be all that impressive at first. So why advertise with Facebook?

Facebook was built using the original fundamental principles of the older networking sites; then Facebook took it to the next level. This network is unique in its ability to flawlessly combine regular social networking activities, business networking, gaming and advertising in an easy ready to use package.

Apart from the technical features of Facebook, this social network is growing every day. To date, Facebook has over five hundred million active users. By ‘active’ we mean individual Facebook users who log on to the social network every day to interact with contacts, play casual online games, click ads, etc.

Facebook is the best place to be whether you’re aiming for a local market or an international market.

Most Facebook users, approximately 70% are from countries form around the world; the other 30% are from the United States. An estimated 2.5 million private, government, nonprofit and commercial websites are directly linked to Facebook. This linkage provides a much speedier and convenient way to reach more people.

With a simple click, a person can “Like” a linked website or a Facebook Page becoming a subscriber. This information appears instantly on that person’s Facebook wall as well as on the walls of all of that person’s contacts. After YouTube, Facebook is the definition of viral.

So what if you are always out and about and don’t have access to your home computer? Not a problem. Facebook predicted this particular problem and quickly established a quick and effective extension of the original Facebook site known as Facebook Mobile. Anyone with a cellular phone and a basic internet connection can access this social network through Facebook mobile.

The device you choose isn’t important. Whether you use a Samsung, Nokia, iPhone, iPad or a Blackberry; they will all work just fine with Facebook Mobile. Simply log on to Facebook and then you are free to actively interact with friends and family; you can even play games if you wish.

Much work is still being done on the mobile version with improvements being made regularly. The main focus of these improvements involves allowing the mobile customer to have the freedom to use the applications available on the Facebook network.

It appears that the goal of Facebook Mobile is not to create a mirror of the original Facebook platform for personal computers and laptop computers, but to create a whole new Facebook experience for mobile users.

Of course, there is the convenience factor, but that’s just one component in an extremely successful formula. To date, a staggering two hundred fifty million Facebook users log on to their accounts using Facebook Mobile.

It is quick and easy to learn how to advertise free on Facebook! Facebook can help you generate traffic to your site over night!
